NAX30 Provides Regulatory Disclosure on Benchmark Operations and Virtual Asset Licensing Application

Namibia 30 Index (NAX30) has published a regulatory disclosure confirming that Abba Payments (Namibia) (Pty) Ltd. has submitted an application to the Bank of Namibia under the Token Issuer licensing class pursuant to the Virtual Assets Act, 2023 (Act No. 10 of 2023).

The licensing application relates to the virtual-asset component of the broader NAX30 infrastructure. The NAX30 Index benchmark remains a separate and distinct component: a rules-based market benchmark referencing 30 selected securities listed on the Namibia Securities Exchange.

Abba Payments (Namibia) (Pty) Ltd. has not been granted a Token Issuer licence by the Bank of Namibia at this time. The submission of the application does not constitute licensing, provisional authorization, regulatory approval, endorsement or permission by the Bank of Namibia to undertake regulated virtual-asset services.
